Pilates for Complete Beginners

Is it appropriate to learn Pilates from a website? What if I don’t do the exercises properly? Is it appropriate to use a Pilates website if I am injured/ in rehabilitation? Why Pilates site and not a book or DVD? How does it compare with taking classes in a Pilates Studio or Group mat classes?
